Maskrafters and the Department of Performing Arts present:
The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh
Directed by Dr. Edward B. Smith
With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. At once hilarious and horrifying, The Pillowman is the darkest of comedies and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art.
This play is intended for mature audiences only as it contains strong, derogatory, and offensive language, disablist language, disturbing themes, direct references to child abuse, violence, and sexual assault, police brutality, suicide, depictions of mental illness, and firearm use.
Age recommendation: 16+ or at parental discretion, parental supervision advised.
Friday and Saturday shows are performed October 31, November 1, 7, and 8 at 7:30 pm
Sunday shows are performed November 2 and 9 at 2:30 pm
